🫧 Summer in the City – Bubble Blow Record Attempt

Saturday, June 14, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Downtown Greensburg

Join us for a day of fun, family, and bubbles in Downtown Greensburg! Summer in the City is back with exciting activities, live entertainment, and a joyful community celebration that’s not to be missed.

The current record is 881 people blowing bubbles at the same time—we’re aiming for 1,200 participants to allow for misses! Pre-registration helps us estimate how much chewing gum to provide and ensures we’re ready for a record-breaking crowd.

On-site day of registration opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 11:45 a.m. to allow time to organize and prepare.

This free event features family fun, live music, a pet parade, chalk art contest, food trucks, and more. Pre-register to receive event updates and help us make history!

Event T-shirts are available at the event for $10-12.

Pet Parade

🎉 The day begins at 10:00 AM with the always popular Pet Parade, organized by Petagogy. Starting at Petagogy and following its traditional downtown route, this parade is a hit with animal lovers of all ages. Dress up your furry friend and join the fun as we parade into downtown! (More details on Petagogy Facebook page). Explore family-friendly activities including the Activity Center, pet bandana tie-dye, photo booth, splash pools.

12:00 SHARP

WORLD RECORD CHEWING GUM BUBBLE ATTEMPT

🫧 At 12:00 noon sharp, all eyes turn to South Pennsylvania Avenue and the Moore/Becker parking lot as we attempt to break a world record for the most people blowing chewing gum bubbles at once! While we originally dreamed of setting the record for soapy bubbles, we’ve switched gears to something even more doable—and just as fun. This massive gum bubble blow will be signaled by the Greensburg Fire Department’s fire whistle.

We’ll provide the chewing bubble gum—or bring your favorite and join the fun! Downtown businesses will be getting in the spirit with bubble-themed window displays, sidewalk sales, and special promotions.
